Procter & Gamble and SFX are launching a music-themed game show called the Pringles Pop Quiz at 31 of SFX's amphitheaters. The game show will offer concertgoers the chance to win a variety of prizes just prior to SFX-produced concerts including Aerosmith, James Taylor, and Moby's Area One Music Festival.

Whitney Houston will receive Black Entertainment Television's inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award June 19 in Las Vegas. The award honors black achievement in the entertainment industry.

In a $372 million cash-and-stock deal, Vivendi Universal, which owns, labels such as A&M, Def Jam, Interscope, Island, MCA, Mercury and Motown, is purchasing online music provider MP3.com. Vivendi bought Seagram and its Universal Music Group last year for $34 billion.

Jazz great Wynton Marsalis has joined XM Satellite Radio in a multi-year partnership. Marsalis will host 12 one-hour musical specials chronicling his career, influences and own tastes in music, which will air on XM's jazz channels. He will also act as a creative consultant to XM's jazz programming team. Producer Quincy Jones also inked a similar deal (CA, May 14).
