CCTV's Moll Named Vice Chairman USO

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —

William G. Moll, president and CEO of Clear Channel Television, a division of Clear Channel Communications, was elected to the newly created position of vice chairman of the USO World Board of Governors. In his new role, Moll will work closely with the current chairman, John Gottschalk, to further the organization's mission of bringing the feel of home to the military.

"For more than 60 years, the USO has consistently delivered comfort, morale and recreational services to members of the U.S. military and their families worldwide, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity in this position to help the USO continue that tradition of support for our men and women in uniform," said Moll. "Clear Channel Communications is a world partner of the USO, having provided extensive in-kind support through the media resources of our different divisions, and I am hopeful that other broadcast and media companies will follow suit by supporting the extremely important mission of the USO."

Clear Channel Communications received the United Service Organization's (USO) 2005 Award of Appreciation for providing over $1.5 million in promotional support through the company's radio, television, outdoor and entertainment divisions. This support helped enable the organization to distribute thousands of care packages and pre-paid phone cards to troops serving overseas.

"On behalf of every Clear Channel employee, I congratulate Bill on this impressive achievement and acknowledgement of his effectiveness as a leader," said Clear Channel President and CEO Mark Mays. "Bill's many years of dedication to public service makes him the perfect choice for this position as he embodies the volunteer culture of the USO."

For the past three years, Moll has been an active member of the USO World Board, most recently serving as the chairman of the Communications, Marketing and Entertainment Committee. In addition to the USO, Moll serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Broadcasters, Board of Directors of the University of the Incarnate Word, Board of Directors, San Antonio Zoo, UPN Board of Governors, and vice president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Tucson). –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
