LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — After a weeklong residency with his Elektric Band at Los Angeles' Catalina Jazz Club, jazz legend Chick Corea has announced a spate of new tour dates set to coincide with the celebration of his 75th birthday.
Corea will be playing dates both with Elektric Band, which features Dave Weckl, John Patitucci, Eric Marienthal and Frank Gambale and with the Trilogy, featuring Brian Blade and Eddie Gomez.
Corea's Trilogy shows start with a three-night stand at the Blue Note Hawaii in Honolulu on September 21st and run through October 8th when the group performs at Xavier University Jazz Series at Gallagher Theater in Cincinnati.
The Elektric Band shows kick off on Oct. 12th with a show at the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, Florida and conclude on Oct. 17th at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Va.
Starting on Oct. 19th, Corea will be in New York, performing a two-month residency at the city's famed Blue Note. – Staff Writers
