CEDAR RAPIDS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Terry W. Dederich has been named assistant executive director for the U.S. Cellular Center, Paramount Theatre and Cedar Rapids Ice Arena, Executive Director Scott Schoenike announced Thursday. VenuWorks of Ames, Iowa, manages all three facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Dederich will be responsible for accelerating event bookings, and seeking and maintaining working relationships with promoters. He also will direct the venues' marketing department staff.
"We are excited to have Terry join our VenuWorks team here in Cedar Rapids," Schoenike said. "He brings a diverse facility management and show promotions background that will make him a major asset for us."
Dederich comes to Cedar Rapids from Super T Events, LLC, of DePere, Wis., which provided consulting and management services for venues and events. He was president of the company. His work experience includes serving as president and general manager of the Tri-Cities Coliseum in Kennewick, Wash.; executive director of TMS Motor Sports of Gilbert, Ariz., and Bloomington, Ill.; marketing director and operations/events supervisor at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and operations and concessions assistant at the Brown County Expo Centre in Green Bay, Wis., where he began his career in 1983.
Dederich received his bachelor's degree from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis. He also attended Public Facility Management School at Oglebay, W.Va. He has been an active member of IAAM (International Association of Assembly Managers) since 1996.
