LONDON (VIP NEWS) -– Irish promoter Denis Desmond is set to become the new Head of Live Nation UK and Ireland as part of a management reshuffle at the firm according to IQ.
Although it is yet to be officially announced, it is understood he has taken the title of chairman of promotions UK/Ireland.
Live Nation has had a busy couple of months.
As reported earlier MLK’s Marek and Andre Lieberberg in Germany are working through their notice before heading up the Live Nation Concerts Germany office beginning in January 2016. In the meantime, former MLK staffer Matthias Schwarz has assumed the managing director role of LN Germany Austria Switzerland operations and a number of staff members have already been recruited.
In the UK, Desmond’s appointment has still to be made public but the company has been busy increasing its portfolio again, this time with LN-Gaiety Holdings Ltd joint venture with Desmond purchasing MAMA & Company, the operator of nine venues and promoter of a number of festivals.
Festival Republic chief Melvin Benn is believed to be playing a more central role in Live Nation UK`s festival arm. His position has been further cemented by the departure of chief operating officer John Probyn. Paul Latham has been elevated to COO for Live Nation UK and Ireland, and will report to Denis Desmond.
