LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Britain feted the music industry last night with the broadcast of the 35th annual Brit Awards with Ed Sheeran taking top honors for the evening.
Sheeran won awards for British Album of the year and British Solo Artist. Sam Smith, no stranger to awards this year, also took home two trophies, winning Breakthrough Act and Global Success.
Other winners included Swift, Pharrell Williams, Foo Fighters, One Direction, and Mark Ronson.
The night also included performances from a number of artists, including Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith, George Ezra, Royal Blood and Take That. Madonna, who also performed at the awards show, provided some unfortunate drama after taking a nasty spill on stage when her cape became tangled with a backup dancer.
Hosted by UK comedy duo Ant & Dec, the Brit Awards were held at the O2 Arena in London and aired live on ITV in Britain, as well as a live stream on YouTube.
