Elmira Jackals Name Michael Marinaccio Their New General Manager

ELMIRA, NY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The First Arena and the Elmira Jackals announced today the hiring of Michael Marinaccio as the new General Manager of the First Arena.

Marinaccio, a resident of Binghamton, will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the First Arena in downtown Elmira, home to the UHL's Elmira Jackals. Not only is he accustomed to life in the Southern Tier, he has plenty of experience in running an arena in Upstate New York. For the past five years Marinaccio has been the General Manager for the Broome County Veteran's Memorial Arena in Binghamton, New York, home to the AHL's Binghamton Senators. Most recently, however, he has been working as the Director of Development for the Family Enrichment Network in Johnson City.

"We are absolutely ecstatic to have Michael join our organization," said owner and team governor Dr. Mostafa Afr. "It is very exciting to bring in a General Manager who not only has past experience in this position, but also someone who knows this area very well I think that Michael will be a huge step towards improving all aspects of the First Arena and its operations."

Marinaccio brings to the table more than mere arena management. Since 1997 he has been the Town Supervisor for the Town of Dickinson and he is currently serving his 3rd term as Dickinson's Chief Executive Officer. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo in Business Management, Marinaccio has also taken various Production, Operations and Employee Relations courses at Cornell University.

"I am both honored and excited about taking over the role of GM," said new First Arena General Manager Michael Marinaccio. "I am really looking forward to working with all the staff. My goals are to keep hockey as strong as it is, and make it stronger, and to bring in as many various events as we can. Hopefully my experiences at the Broome Country Arena will be a great tool for me to use towards many positive upgrades at the First Arena."
