DENMARK: One of the largest music festivals in Denmark, Midtfyns Festivalen, has got new owners. Last week the Danish football club, Odense Boldklub A/S, announced that it has bought the festival, which is placed in the little Southfunen town Ringe.
In the last 26 years it has been first Peter Færgemann then, after he died, his wife, Nina Færgemann, who have been the owner of the festival. Nina Færgemann had hoped that she could make a generational change with her children, but it has not been possible. Therefor she has now decided to sell.
The manager of Odense Boldklub A/S, Kim Brink, says that it is the strategy of the football club to get into other areas of the entertainment market, and he sees the purchase of the Midtfyns Festival as a great help in order to secure the football club in a strong position in the market for music and entertainment.
