TAMPA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Global Spectrum has been selected to manage the newly-refurbed Sun Dome at the University of South Florida.
The 10,000 capacity Sun Dome, which has been in the midst of a $35.6M overhaul, is set to open in April with a ribbon cutting ceremony in May and the first commercial events at the venue taking place in June.
“The first concerts and stuff are going to be in the summer,” Sarah Webster, the Sun Dome's marketing director told the USF Oracle. “But the first actually attended event is going to be graduation, which is a very, very important event for us, so we want to make sure it’s the best it can be — which it will be. There’s going to be a lot of people through the doors so it’s going to be a busy event.”
Upgrades to the Sun Dome include: State-of-the art center hung LED scoreboard, additional concessions and restrooms, new back stage facilities, new seats and new loge boxes among other features.
