LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Financial Times of London is reporting that a series of events being planned to help raise public awareness about climate change will be "bigger than Live8".
The events which are planned for July 7 will be staged at numerous locations around the world, London, Washington DC, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town and Kyoto and feature live performances and coordinated film, music and television events to reach as wide an audience as possible.
Rumored to be involved in the announcement is former vice president Al Gore, who has been a vocal proponent of climate issues, most notably his 2006 film "An Inconvenient Truth."
Sources close to the event have said that the talent brought to the event will be "exponentially bigger" than Live8. Likely titled "SOS, organizers are hoping to pull at least 2.5m fans to the various concerts.
