Greenwood Full Time At Halftime


EL PASO, TX (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – Lee Greenwood will headline the Hyundai Halftime Show at the 77th Annual Hyundai Sun Bowl on New Year's Eve at Sun Bowl Stadium. The Hyundai Sun Bowl will feature the Atlantic Coast Conference against the Pacific-10 Conference. Greenwood's halftime show will feature a performance by the marching bands of the participating universities in the Sun Bowl.

Greenwood, who is a two-time Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year, won a Grammy in 1984 and has charted seven No. 1 hits on the Billboard’s country chart.Best known for his single “God Bless the USA,” Greenwood’s No. 1 hits include — “Somebody’s Gonna Love You,” “Going, Going, Gone,” “Dixie Road,” “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose),” “Don’t Underestimate My Love For You,” “Hearts Aren’t Made to Break (They’re Made to Love)” and “Mornin’ Ride.”

His 1983 single “I.O.U.” was also a top five hit on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts, and reached No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100. A 2001 re-release of “God Bless the USA” became his highest charting pop hit, reaching No. 16 on the Hot 100.

This marks the seventh consecutive year the Hyundai Sun Bowl has featured the halftime show. Previous performers have included Los Lonely Boys, Diamond Rio, Baby Bash, Rihanna, The Village People and David Archuleta.

The Hyundai Sun Bowl is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 31 at noon at Sun Bowl Stadium. The game will be broadcast live nationally in high definition on CBS for the 43rd consecutive year.
