MELBOURNE, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Music impresario Michael Gudinski, head of Mushroom Records and Frontier Touring, has been named "Melbournian of the Year" by the city.
According to the Melbourne Leader, Gudinksi was recognized for his 4-decades long contribution to Melbourne's music culture as well as his philanthropic endeavors.
Gudinksi helped to organize the Sound Relief benefit concerts, which raised more than $9 million to assist the victims of wildfires in both Victoria and Queensland.
Gudinski accepted the award during a ceremony at Melbourne City Hall, stating that he was "humbled and honored" by the experience.
