NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess) — Led by a lineup that included Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, Trombone Shorty, T.I., Anthony Hamilton and No Doubt, this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival posted strong attendance, with 460,000 fans turning out for the event, the highest since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
According to attendance figures released on Monday, attendance at the event was up by 25,000 over the previous year's edition of the event.
The high attendance for this year's Jazz Fest came despite the rain on the event's first weekend which forced the early closure of some of the festival's stages. However, sunny weather helped the festival to bounce back the following weekend, with performances by Elton John and rock legend Jerry lee Lewis.
