NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Some of the biggest names in modern jazz music performed at a memorial concert held for the late, Charlie Haden, one of the most influential bassists in the history of jazz music.
Held at the Town Hall in New York, the concert featured Bill Frisell, Joshua Redman, Pat Metheny, Denardo Coleman, Ravi Coltrane, Jack DeJohnette, Brad Mehldau, Quartet West and numerous others, with Charlie Haden's wife, Ruth Cameron Haden acting as the host for the event.
The event was free and open to the public.
Haden died in July after a battle with the degenerative effects of post-polio syndrome. – Staff Writers
