TOKYO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Avril Lavigne has opted to postpone her planned Japenese May tourdates, citing her respect for Japanese families that were still mourning the loss of loved ones from the Tsunami disaster. The tourdates will be announced when they are rescheduled.
"I want the people of Japan to know that they have been in my thoughts since the devastating disasters. Japan and my fans there have been so important to me and so supportive throughout my career," Lavigne said.
In the meantime, Lavigne has announced that all of the proceeds from the sale of her ballad "Keep Holding On" on Amazon will go to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. In addition, Lavigne is reportedly designing a T-Shirt, the proceeds of which, will be donated to Japenese disaster relief.
Lavigne is currently on the road in Asia with her "Black Star" tour. THe list of dates still on the book include:
