MSG Said To Be Eyeing Major Festival For New York

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — The New York Post is reporting that New York’s Madison Square Garden is seeking permission from the city to stage a major outdoor music festival at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens in June, 2016.

The move would put them into direct competition with Los Angeles-based AEG, who is also said to be eyeing the Queens Park for festivals in 2016, at approximately the same time.

While MSG has not made an official statement about their festival plans, the company, which has a strategic partnership with Irving Azoff, is expected to announce later this week.

“There’s no one as committed to, or more capable of, creating a world-class festival than we are,” David O’Connor, president and CEO of MSG, said in a statement to The Post. – Staff Writers
