muchmusic usa Teams Up With America Online

muchmusic usa, the nation's only viewer-driven all music network, has teamed with the world's leading interactive services company, America Online, Inc., to bring the groundbreaking and extremely popular broadband online music program, Sessions@AOL, to television for the first time. A two-part, one-hour special titled Highlights From Sessions@AOL will air on muchmusic on Sunday, March 16 at 7 PM (EST). This is AOL Music's first television production.

Based on AOL Music's popular bi-weekly program available exclusively to AOL Broadband members on-demand at AOL Keyword: Sessions, each of the Highlights From Sessions@AOL telecasts will feature four performances and interviews taped for the AOL Music series. Airing back-to-back, each half hour episode will be dedicated to a specific genre of music. The first part of the two part special will feature an all rock line-up including Queens of the Stone Age, Jimmy Eat World, The Donnas and The Used. Then, beginning at 7:30 PM (EST), the second part will focus on hip-hop performances by Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, LL Cool J and Ja Rule. The two-part special will encore March 16 at 10 PM, March 18 at 4 PM and 9 PM and March 22 at 5 PM.

"As the only music network that is truly driven by the web and web-savvy viewers, it is only natural that AOL Music chose to partner with us," said muchmusic usa president Marc Juris. "We hope that it is the beginning of a long, fruitful programming and marketing alliance."

"We're thrilled to join forces with muchmusic usa to expand the reach of the Sessions@AOL programming franchise," says Evan Harrison, executive director, AOL Music. "With over one million streams a week, Sessions@AOL on AOL Music has already proven to be a hit with music fans online so we're excited to bring this show to an even broader audience of television viewers."

Sessions@AOL's exclusive live performances are recorded in intimate settings and feature interviews with questions submitted by music fans on AOL. Featured artists include Nelly, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, Paul McCartney, P. Diddy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band and Avril Lavigne, among many others. The half-hour Sessions@AOL Highlights show is available exclusively on AOL Broadband every other Thursday. Individual Sessions@AOL performances and interviews are also available online for narrowband members at AOL Keyword: Sessions and featured on the Web at Netscape Music (www.music.netscape.com). Sessions@AOL is streamed by over a million people each week.
