New Board Members For Network Europe

NIJMEGEN, Netherlands (VIP-NEWS) — Network Europe, the association for agents, bookers, promoters and talent buyers working crossborder in Europe, last Friday held its first Members Meeting in 2009 during the EuroSonic Noorderslag Conference in Groningen, The Netherlands.

Although the EuroSonic Seminar offered strong competition with excellent panels, and many Network Europe members were already tired after watching numerous bands play the EuroSonic Festival, most members did show up at Network Europe’s Members Meeting to meet their colleagues from all over Europe in an intimate setting, and to exchange information on recent business as well as musical trends in the various European territories.

Accompanied by coffee, tea or another
drink, and with sandwiches available, the afternoon Meeting proved lively, entertaining and very informative.

The Members Meeting unanimously elected a new Board for Network Europe. In line with the Meeting’s desire to reduce the constitutionally required minimum number of Board members to three, three people were elected: – Attilio Perissinotti (Virus Concerti, Pordenone, Italy)
– Thomas Ryjord (Storås Artist, Trondheim, Norway)
– Rob Berends (Paperclip Agency, Nijmegen, The Netherlands).

Network Europe owes a great deal to the Board members who stepped down after more than five years of Board membership, from the moment Network Europe changed from an informal project (started in 1986 by Rob Berends) to an Association in September 2003.
Recent disagreements within the former Board about a fair distribution of tasks within Network Europe’s Board and about the control
on tasks executed by, or on behalf of, the Board, made a change inevitable.

The Network thanks these three former Board members who have continuously contributed to the Association by ventilating their thoughts on how to improve Network Europe: Corrado Gioia (Hard Staff, Milano, Italy), Marc Lambelet (Black Lamb, Lausanne, Switzerland) and Tapio Korjus
(Rockadillo, Tampere, Finland).
