(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pittsburgh promoter Antonio DeMarco has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy following the cancellation of his July 10 all-night party at the David L Lawrence Convention Center that was to have featured Christina Aguilera and others. A post on DeMarco's Web site, www.elementspgh.com, said the event was cancelled “due to extenuating circumstances.” Tickets were between $75 and $150.
DeMarco told the Post-Gazette that refunds would be issued. According to his Web site, refunds will not be issued through PayPal, the Internet transaction service used to sell tickets via his Web site, because of its transaction fees. Rather, “we are refunding 100% per certified funds sent to ticket purchasers promptly.”
However, the paper reports that it has received a number of complaints that DeMarco is not returning phone calls or e-mails requesting refunds. – Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
