Universal Music Group (UMG) has promoted Susan Povich to vice president of Business & Legal Affairs for eLabs, UMG's new media and technologies division. Previously, Povich served as senior director for eLabs, negotiating agreements for digital and wireless distribution of UMG repertoire, as well as agreements for new revenue streams for existing repertoire. She will continue to be based in UMG's New York City offices and report to David Ring, senior vice president of Business Development & Business Affairs, eLabs.

Prior to joining Universal four years ago, Povich worked with Russell Simmons on his Internet venture, 360HipHop.com, as senior vice president of Business Development and Business Affairs.
