RICHMOND, VA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Richmond outlet of the club Toad's Place has reportedly been shuttered with agents for the landlord posting signs that state the closure was due to "serious default in rental payment and other obligations."
According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, postings on the building indicate that a notice of default was provided by building landlord Fulton Hill Properties to Toad's manager Charles Joyner on February 20 and that the "landlord exercises its right to re-enter the premises and remove Tenant from possession."
Toad's still has events listed on their calendar, including upcoming gigs by Maceo Parker, Average White Band and Busta Rhymes and no update on the status of scheduled shows has been released. A representative for the club could not be reached for comment.
The adjacent restaurant, Highwater, is also closed, but at present it is unclear if it is part of planned renovation. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
