Rick Mueller Out At LN

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rick Mueller, president of Live Nation California, has announced that he will be leaving his post at Live Nation by July 2011, if not earlier. According to a report in Billboard, sources suggest that Mueller is headed to Live Nation's rival AEG Live but the company declined to comment.

"Rick informed me yesterday that he had made the decision to leave the company at the end of his employment agreement in late July, and as such we are working now to provide him an earlier release," Live Nation's co-president for North America Bob Roux told Billboard.

Mueller has headed up Live Nation's important California operations since he was promoted to the post in 2008. Formerly, Mueller served Live Nation as the head of their San Francisco office.

Mueller's exit is the latest in a string of defections from Live Nation. Last month saw the departure of Danny Zelisko, who was president of Live Nation's southwest operations and Brian Murphy, formerly a chairman of Southern California music at Live Nation who also jumped to AEG Live. In the northeast, veteran promoter Don Law, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Music Division at Live Nation, has also seemed, increasingly, to be operating independently. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
