KENSINGTON, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former concert promoter Danny Scher, who’s backyard concerts caused enough controversy to persuade him to run for the Kensington Police Protection and Community Service District board of directors, was unsuccessful in his bid for office.
Scher pulled only 17 percent of the vote, coming in last in the race. He lost out to two incumbents and two newcomers.
Legal battles with the county over multiple political fundraiser concerts held in his backyard amphitheater brought Scher into the spotlight, eventually driving him to run for office to enact change.
The former Bill Graham Presents executive was awarded $29,000 in court fees after lawsuits against him were thrown out in late 2005. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
