TORONTO (CelebrityAccess) — Soul singer Sharon Jones revealed that she is once again battling pancreatic cancer.
Jones, who fronts the band the Dap-Kings, was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013, but through a combination of aggressive surgery and chemotherapy, was able to beat the disease.
According to the Toronto Star, Jones made the announcement about the retun of her cancer on September 11th, while on stage during the debut of a documentary "Barbara Kopple's Miss Sharon Jones!" which details her first battle with the malady.
"I'm going to do what I have to do. I'm going to sing," Jones told the Audience, according to The Star.
The 59-year-old performer announced last month that the Dap-Kings were preparing a new holiday album, "Holiday Soul Party" which is due on Oct. 30th. – Staff Writers
