MANCHESTER, UK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Seminal British alt-rock band The Happy Mondays are in the studio working on a new album which is tentatively slated for release in early '09.
"Its sounding good," the band's frontman Shaun Ryder told Billboard "We had a few tracks left over from the last Mondays' album [2007's 'Uncle Dysfunktional'], so we thought that we might as well do another one."
The new album will mark the band's sixth effort and the second since the band reformed after a 15-year hiatus.
They also have some summer tour plans shaping up and are looking to make the festival scene.
