The Who Rumored For Halftime Gig At Superbowl

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Rumors have been circulating on the 'net about a possible gig by The Who during halftime at this years' Super Bowl XLIV.

The rumors appear to be based on a report by an unnamed source at Sports Illustrated and according to the New York Post, the NFL responded to question sabout the rumors rather cryptically, saying, "When we have something to announce, we'll announce it."

The Who would fit pretty neatly into the range of performers who've starred in Superbowl halftime shows in recent years which have included a surfeit of classic rockers such as Bruce Springsteen, The Stones and Tom Petty.

Additionally, the Big Game is being carried by CBS this year and the Network already has some ties to the band; three of their songs are used as theme music for CBS's numerous "CSI" franchises. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
