OXFORDSHIRE, UK (CelebrityAccess) — Dr. Rachel Owen, the longtime romantic partner of Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, died Sunday at the age of 48.
An obituary posted by Pembroke College – the University of Oxford, where she taught, said that she had been battling cancer for the past year.
An expert in medieval Italian literature, Owen was a retained lecturer at the college. She was an internationally recognized artist in her own right as well, mixing photography and printmaking.
One of her latest artistic productions was a series of prints inspired by the Cantos of Dante’s first book of the Divine Comedy, Pembroke said.
Owen and Yorke were partners for more than two decades and had two children together, a son and daughter, but parted ways last year. – Staff Writers
