CARSON, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Punk rockers Green Day have been given the green light to play the Carson, California, 27,000-capacity Home Depot Center on October 8 and 9, following a 6-person concert committee approval.
According to Anschutz Entertainment Group spokesman Michael Roth, the “list” that had received so much attention earlier in the week was compiled before the venue opened as a “suggested list of groups that may not be appropriate to play.”
Roth told CelebrityAccess that “the process was to receive a formal approval, however, it should be noted that whether or not a group is on the list, they are subject to this process. It is in no way a list of banned acts.”
The 6-member committee votes on all acts scheduled to play the Home Depot Center. Those who perform receive a formal approval from the group.
“We did book the show; we did put tickets on sale; we did everything in anticipation of the approval two weeks later,” said Roth. “The committee met this morning and voted 5-1 for formal approval of the two shows.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
