VMS Live Announces Partnership With 3 UK Venues

LONDON (VIP-NEWS) — UK based Venue management company VMS Live has announced new partnerships with three small UK venues.

York`s 400-capacity The Duchess, Birmingham’s 350-capacity Alfie Bird & The Ooblick and Aberystwyth’s 400-capacity Students’ Union have joined VMS’s portfolio, which already includes clients such as Manchester Academy, Portsmouth Pyramids and Brixton Electric.

“We are independent at heart, as are VMS Live and we look forward to working together to deliver the best possible live music and comedy to the people of York, ensuring that the venue continues to punch above it’s weight” said Mathew Tunstall owner and operator of the Duchess, which has hosted acts including Ed Sheeran, George Ezra and Jonny Marr since opening in 2008.

Damien Fell, owner of Alfie Bird & The Oobleck, said: “I am absolutely chuffed to be working with VMS and their talented team to bring a large spectrum of quality live music to our venue.”

Offering a range of services up to full venue management, VMS was formed in 2007 and is led by Steve Forster, formerly of AMG and MAMA, along with Richard Maides and Carl Bathgate.

“These new key partnerships with more intimate venues will offer more choice to promoters, agents and artists at this level, delivering well operated and marketed venues that will also benefit from the support of our expanding centralised operations and booking functions and will hopefully be the first of many,” said Bathgate, VMS commercial director.

VMS MD Forster added: “Each arrangement that we have is entirely bespoke to suit the needs of both parties and we are delighted to be working with Aber starting with the Freshers programme to deliver a broad and rich programme of events to the venue.”

Aberystwyth Students` Union CEO John Glasby said: “In recent times, we have found it more and more challenging to deliver a successful events and entertainments programme to our members with the financial means available to us. In coming to a risk free arrangement with VMS we believe we can guarantee a much broader range of successful events for our members and drive up standards across the whole bars and entertainment provision of the SU.” – Staff Writers
