Wilkes Named AEG's Senior VP For Asia

HONG KONG (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG has appointed Adam Wilkes as Senior Vice President, Music and Touring for their Asia division.

In this newly created position, Wilkes will work under both AEG China’s John Cappo on programming for the company’s China venues and with AEG Live’s John Meglen to develop an Asia-based touring circuit.

Over the past decade, Wilkes has promoted more than 100 concerts and sports competitions in the region, including a number of firsts for the Chinese market: first Western act to top 35,000 in attendance (Celine Dion); first Western rock concert in a stadium (Linkin Park); and first major hip hop tour (Black Eyed Peas). Wilkes also promoted James Brown's now legendary performance at Shanghai's intimate Yunfeng Theater during the singer's final tour.

AEG China CEO John Cappo said “AEG continues to expand its network of world-class arenas in China. Adam will bring his depth of experience and expertise to developing a strong tour circuit throughout China and the Asia Pacific region. We are delighted that he joins the strong and growing AEG team." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
