MILTON-KEYNES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — British singer and habitué of the court system Amy Winehouse, avoided a stint in jail after she plead guilty to an assault charge.
According to the Guardian, Winehouse was in court in connection December 19th incident where she assaulted theater manager Richard Pound by pulling his hair and called him a 'fucking cunt' after he refused to serve her alcohol. The court was told that Winehousehad already knocked back five vodka and cokes before she attended the holiday show and was seeking a sixth when Pound suggested that water might be a better beverage.
Instead of a jail sentence, Winehouse escaped with a fee of £100 in damages for Pound, £85 in court costs and a two-year conditional discharge. The judge advised Winehouse that she will be "hit hard" by the court in the event of any future legal entanglements. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
