MOSCOW (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Amy Winehouse reportedly played a recent exclusive gig for 300 guests at the behest of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. The BBC reported that the troubled singer picked up a cool £1 million for her efforts.
The gig was in Moscow to celebrate the gala opening of a new art gallery being run by Abramovich's girlfriend Daria Zhukova.
Winehouse's website described it thusly: The Center for Contemporary Culture Moscow (CCC Moscow) which is backed by Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, will open in September and has been set up as a not-for-profit organisation and aims to attract even those who know nothing about contemporary art.
Zhukova, a former model and socialite hosted the event at the new gallery, built in an old bus station and described as twice the size of a soccer field.
