Winton Named CEO CCE's North American Theatrical Group

Steve Winton has been named chief executive officer of Clear Channel Entertainment’s North American Theatrical Group effective June 1. “Steve has tremendous industry experience and a long history with our company,” said Miles Wilkin, Clear Channel Entertainment (CCE) chief operating officer. “He has vast theatrical knowledge that covers a broad spectrum that includes the presenting, management and development of theatrical productions at all levels. Steve’s experience and background will insure a continuation of strong senior management to our North American Theatrical Group.”

Headquartered in New York City, Winton will direct the North American Theatrical Group which is a leading presenter and producer of Broadway and touring theatrical productions in the United States and Canada, as well as a major co-producer of theater in New York City. CCE’s North American Theatrical Group presents theatrical subscription seasons in more than 50 communities across North America and owns and operates 18 theaters including the Hilton Theater in New York City. In addition to operating and managing these venues, the company is committed to theater restoration and renovation projects throughout the world.

Winton began his career with 890 Studios in New York City after graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Theater Management. Winton joined Pace Theatrical Group in 1986 (PACE was acquired by SFX in 1998 and ultimately merged with Clear Channel Communications in 2000). Winton spent five years as manager of various Broadway touring productions as well as holding numerous positions with PACE Theatrical Group. At Clear Channel Entertainment Winton has served as chief operating officer of North America Theatrical, as chief operating officer for Clear Channel Entertainment Europe and as president of North America Theatrical. Most recently Winton served as president, COO of the Naples Philharmonic Center in Naples, FL. Winton is also a member of the League of American Theaters and Producers. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
