(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Ziff Davis Media and CMJ Network Inc. have entered into a co-marketing agreement for the company's respective events, DigitalLife and CMJ Music Marathon. Both events will be co-located at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City; DigitalLife will run from October 14-17, 2004 and CMJ Music Marathon will be held October 13-16.
"The digital music market is growing by leaps and bounds, and will be showcased prominently at DigitalLife," said Jim Hasl, vice president, Ziff Davis Event Marketing Group. "CMJ's knowledge and experience, coupled with their popular Music Marathon will allow us to dive deeper into the converging worlds of music and technology."
DigitalLife (www.digitallife.com) is the first-of-its-kind event dedicated entirely to educating consumers on the latest in consumer electronics, Internet search and shopping, entertainment technology and videogames. CMJ Music Marathon (http://www.cmj.com/marathon) attracts over 90,000 music enthusiasts for four days of live performances, keynotes, industry panels and exhibits.
"As the evolving world of music continues to rely more heavily on all forms of digital technology, events that focus on the consumer experience and interactivity with music become all the more critical," says CMJ CEO Robert Haber. "CMJ Music Marathon's partnership with DigitalLife comes at a watershed moment in the music space; we are thrilled with the opportunities this collaboration offers."
The two companies will engage in joint online and print marketing efforts to promote the benefits of both events. The initiatives take advantage of the impact digital technology is having on the production and delivery of today's music. Ziff Davis will promote CMJ Music Marathon and digital music through its own print, radio and direct mail campaign as well as on its website. CMJ Network will promote consumer electronics and digital technology via its own marketing campaign, including sales literature, direct marketing and website promotion. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
