Composer Ennio Morricone Postpones Shows Over Back Injury

ROME, Italy (CelebrityAccess) — Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone has postponed several upcoming European performances due to health issues.

The Oscar-winning composer was set to perform three shows with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra and its chorus at Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome on May 22nd, 23rd and 24th. According to a statement released by the orchestra Morricone, 87, was sidelined due to two collapsed vertebrae, requiring bed rest until the end of June.

"I am very disappointed," said Morricone in the statement released by the orchestra, "but new concert dates will be scheduled as soon as possible."

Morricone's reps told the BBC that later dates in Europe would still be taking place as scheduled. – Staff Writers
