Sorority Noise Cancels Tourdates Following Rape Allegation

HARTFORD, CT (CelebrityAccess) — Emo band Sorority Noise canceled all of their upcoming tour dates, while the band addresses a rape allegation against its frontman Cameron Boucher.

In a post to the band’s social media, a rep wrote:

“Our team is doing its due diligence and looking into the matter as quickly as possible. We are looking after Cam and taking him to receive treatment to ensure his health at this time. We are sorry to let any of you down and extend our deepest regrets to those affected.”

The allegations against Boucher stem from an alleged Facebook post by Nicole Schoenholz, in which she wrote: ‘Deleting this in 3 seconds but my entire experience in the music industry is a bunch of dudes working hard to make sure the bands they make money off are not outed as rapists so fuck SN and OG, because CB is a fucking scumbag who raped a friend of mine.’

The post, which apparently has been removed, was posted as an image to a thread on Reddit, with a user claiming to be Schoenholz posted on the thread, reportedly writing “My friend stayed the night with Cam while he was in college and she woke up to Cam fucking her while she was asleep. This isn’t a unique situation or one off ‘missed step.’”

Schoenholz currently performs as One Hundred Year Ocean, and was formerly a member The World Is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, before she was forced out of the group in 2016.

Schoenholz herself has faced questions about abusive behavior after TWIBP member Katie Dvorak made a social media post about Schoenholz exit from the band.

In a separate statement posted to his social media, Boucher has denied the allegation leveled against him.

“I am aware of the Facebook post that Nicole Schoenholz made late last night that has made its way to Reddit and other social media,” Boucher wrote. “I would like to firmly state that her accusations are false. I take accusations of sexual violence and non consent very seriously. Since last night, I have taken time to have honest conversations with previous partners … Following those dialogues, I can confirm that the accusations against me are baseless.”

The band had a series of performances scheduled for the UK this month, including the O2 Academy Islington, Manchester Academy 2, Leeds Uni Style, and SWX Bristol.

At the time of publication, Cameron Boucher has not been charged with a crime, nor has Ms. Schoenholz provided any evidence for her claims.
