CHESTER, Conn. (CelebrityAccess) In what Broadway World is calling a “stellar 10-person cast,” Emmy-award winning actor Peter Dinklage is leading the pack in the musical play “Cyrano,” which is set to launch at the Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., Aug. 3 to Sept. 2.
Dinklage, also the recipient of a Golden Globe, known for his role as Tyrion Lannister on “Game of Thrones,” has seen his star steadily rise since his lead role in 2003’s “The Station Agent.” Since then he can be seen in major movies like “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” The cast also includes Haley Bennett, a star of the movie “Thank You For Your Service,” will play Roxanne and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian.
The music for the musical will be provided by the Grammy-award winning band The National. Much of this information was announced in the May by the New York Post but did not gain traction in the media until this week with the completion of the cast.
Dinklage’s theatre credits include A Month in the Country, Things We Want, and Shakespeare’s Richard III as the lead role, according to Broadway World.
Original music for Cyrano is by Aaron and Bryce Dessner – the latter known as a member of the National. Aaron produced Frightened Rabbit’s album Painting of a Panic Attack.
