CANADA (CelebrityAccess) Canadian country artist Ian Tyson has postponed or canceled upcoming shows as he was admitted to the hospital for a procedure to “tune up his heart,” according to Paul Mascioli, president Mascioli Entertainment Corporation.
“I’m having some heart problems and the doctors are looking after me. Thanks for everyone’s thoughts and see you soon,” Tyson said. He is expected to return to his ranch to recuperate.
Tyson was scheduled to perform in Drumheller, AB with Corb Lund Aug. 25.
Fellow Canadian country artist Corb Lund released the following statement:
Unfortunately, due to an unexpected and serious medical situation, Ian Tyson will no longer be available to perform with me at the Badlands Amphitheatre in Drumheller, AB on August 25th. Ian and l hope to do more shows together down the road, but right now he has to prioritize his health and sit this one out.
I’m disappointed that Ian and I won’t be able to share the stage at such an amazing venue so close to where we both call home. However, I will be honouring the intended spirit of the evening by continuing on with the show solo, and performing many of the songs (Ian’s and my own) that we had planned to sing together.
Ian will still be receiving his share of the proceeds to use during his recuperation. For Ticketing and refund information please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 403-823-2001.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the 25th for an intimate night of Western story and song, as we send Ian our best thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery.
