BELGIUM (CelebrityAccess) PlayPass, a Belgium startup that provides smart wristband solutions, has raised €1.9 million from Newton and existing angle investors, and the company expects to raise an additional €10 million by 2020.
The Antwerp-based company has raise €7.9 million to date, according to Tijd.be. Founded in 2012, PlayPass has worked with 150 festivals in 20 countries having between 25,000 to 80,000 visitors a day, and has partnered with Belgian football clubs Anderlecht and KV Mechelen.
PlayPass provides RFID solutions combining access control, accreditation management, cashless payments, and brand activation and social media. PlayPass offers scanning solutions based on barcode, QR code, RFID and NFC scanning.
