WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper and provocateur Kanye West has reportedly been invited to meet with President Trump at the White House on Thursday.
According to the New York Times, Ye will first meet with advisor and Presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner, and will then have lunch with the Big Orange Man himself.
According to a statement from White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Kanye is is expected to discuss a number of topics during his visit, including job opportunities for those released from prison, manufacturing jobs in Chicago, and gang violence.
Sanders told the Times that West will also discuss ways to reduce violence in Chicago. West, a native of the city, recently revealed plans to move back to the Windy City.
The depth of West’s expertise in these areas is not entirely clear, but that leaves him in good stead with the current team at the White House.
In what may be his key qualification, West has been a vocal, though a somewhat ambiguous supporter of the President. Just last month, West appeared as the musical guest on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat — a signature fashion statement for Trump fans — and delivering a rambling speech at the show’s end, which did not end up in the broadcast.
West has also praised the President via social media, describing him as a “brother” and suggesting that they are both “dragon energy” and responded in agreement with other Twitter user’s supportive messages aimed at the President.
And, of course, Trump seems to love to be praised and has thanked Kanye numerous times on the social media platform. He also invited the rapper to meet with him at Trump tower after the 2016 election and provided him with a signed ‘Maga’ hat.
