GLASGOW, Scotland (CelebrityAccess) AEG’s venue management division AEG Facilities announced that it has extended its partnership agreement to continue operating The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.
Under the terms of the agreement, AEG Facilities will continue to provide services including event booking, venue operations, premium seating initiatives and sponsorship sales and marketing at the arena.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The 12,000-seat arena is one of the premier venues in Scotland and annually hosts more than 130 events annually.
Since opening its doors five years ago on 30 September, 2013, The SSE Hydro, with support from AEG Facilities, has presented shows from touring artists such as Rod Stewart, Ed Sheeran, U2, The Who, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and has hosted events like the C2C Country Music Festival.
AEG Facilities also oversaw the creation of a 10-year naming rights deal with SSE and has also landed sponsorship deals with a roster of corporate partners that include Heineken, Clydesdale Bank, Raymond Weil, IRN-BRU and Capital FM.
Upcoming shows on the calendar for the SSE Hydro include David Byrne on Oct. 22nd; Enrique Iglesias on Oct. 23rd; and the Black Eyed Peas on Nov. 2nd.
