BROOKLYN (CelebrityAccess) — A crew member on the Starz network drama series “Power” which stars rapper 50 Cent, was killed on set during a shoot early Monday morning.
According to New York’s WPIX, 63-year-old Pedro Jimenez, a production assistant for the show, was pronounced dead at a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle while setting up traffic cones during a shoot in Brooklyn.
Police told WPIX the 64-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. There have been no arrests.
A spokesman for Starz told WPIX that the network was “deeply saddened” by the incident and production on the series have been suspended.
Power, which debuted in 2014, features Omari Hardwick portraying a ruthless New York drug dealer and 50 Cent cast as a business rival. 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is also an executive producer on the show.
After news of the accident broke, 50 Cent took to Twitter to express his sympathy for the victim’s family.
