Comedian Brody Stevens Dead In Apparent Suicide

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Brody Stevens, a stand-up comedian and actor who starred on film, and television, as well as several popular podcasts, has died in an apparent suicide. He was 48.

According to TMZ, Stevens body was found hanging in his home Friday afternoon, shortly after 1 PM.

A statement from his reps said: “Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community. He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”

Stevens, along with Zach Galifianakis, co-created the Comedy Central series “Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!” and was featured in a Comedy Central Half-Hour Special in 2014.

As well, he hosted a pair of podcasts, including “The Steven Brody Stevens Festival of Friendship” on the Feral Audio Network, and “Brode and Esther” on Deathsquad.

He also had a video podcast “Positive Push with Brody Stevens” which aired on YouTube’s video podcast network.

Brody’s work on the big screen included roles in Jesus Is Magic, Due Date, The Hangover and The Hangover Part II.

However, he had battled mental health issues for years and was hospitalized in 2011 after suffering a bipolar episode.

Update: “Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community,” his reps at agency UTA said in a statement. “He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”
