NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Country music artist, songwriter, and record producer Maren Morris performed her hit “A Song for Everything” Monday night on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Morris performed the track, which is from her latest album Girl (2019) on an acoustic guitar with some help from her backing band.
Maren infused the bittersweet country ballad comes with a healthy dosage of wistful nostalgia, hearkening back to times of yore when “Coldplay played clubs.” The nostalgia was further enhanced by the instrumentation for the performance which included both a standup bass and an accordion, but sadly, lacked a steel guitar.
Girl, which dropped in March via Columbia Nashville, topped the U.S. County charts and debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200, amid favorable critical reviews.
If you missed her on Colbert, you can catch her live as Morris is currently on the road supporting her latest release, with shows scheduled in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand through the late Autumn.
Upcoming performances include the Pageant in St. Louis on May 9th; the Egyptian Room at Old National Centre in Indianapolis on May 10th; and The Fillmore in Detroit on May 11th.
