LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Lil Nas X, known for his crossover hit “Old Town Road,” has signed with CAA.
The Atlanta rapper saw his first live show recently at Stagecoach, performing with Billy Ray Cyrus, and he has some more fests lined up this summer. He is signed to Columbia Records and managed by Maverick Management plus Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks.
“Old Town Road” is known for being a country song, or for not being one, with Billboard finally determining that the song deserved to be on its country chart.
“Upon further review, it was determined that ‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nas X does not currently merit inclusion on Billboard’s country charts,” the trade mag said. “When determining genres, a few factors are examined, but first and foremost is musical composition. While ‘Old Town Road’ incorporates references to country and cowboy imagery, it does not embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version.”
