LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Iron Maiden is suing a video game company over its game Ion Maiden, claiming the game’s name is an “incredibly blatant” infringement on its trademark.

The lawsuit demands $2 million in damages from 3D Realms, developer of Duke Nukem and Max Payne, saying the title of the game is “confusing among consumers,” is nearly identical to the Iron Maiden trademark and is “attempting to trade off on Iron Maiden’s notoriety.”

Further, the game’s protagonist, Shelly Harrison, is a play on the name of band bassist Steve Harris, and that a skull icon in the game is similar to the band’s mascot, Eddie, according to the lawsuit. The band also argues the game is similar to its own Legacy of the Beast game, with fans saying online that they thought Ion Maiden was a band tie-in.

Guns N’ Roses recently sued a Colorado craft brewery over a product called Guns ‘N’ Rosé.
