LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — TAIT, the US-based touring production, and engineering company announced the acquisition of Kinesys, the UK-based motion control group that has provided systems used by artists such as Mumford & Sons, The 1975 and Ed Sheeran.

Founded in 1978, Tait has provided engineering, and automation services to the live entertainment industry, including the TAIT Navigator system, proprietary automation and show control platform capable of controlling machinery, lighting, audio, pyro, and other effects.

Kinesys, which has been operating for 16 years, offers the Elevation, Libra, and more recently Apex modular automation product lines.

Following the tie-up, the companies will merge their automation technologies and Kinesys will offer Tait products via its global distribution network but will continue to operate as separate brands with all the existing contact details and staff remaining in place.

“I have long admired the amazing work that the team at TAIT have delivered over the years. From ground-breaking touring shows to epic installations they really have earned their reputation for quality and innovation. Being able to bring that magic to our Kinesys family of customers and rental partners is exciting. This will take the choice of automation available to every tour, production, and venue to a whole new level. By sharing our respective experiences and expertise we can bring extraordinary solutions to an expanded customer base in integrated and affordable packages,” said Dave Weatherhead, CEO of Kinesys.

The financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.
