LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco’s recent spike in his career arc continues with the announcement that he will be hosting MTV’s Video Music Awards Aug. 26.
The announcement is expected to be official tonight on NBC’s “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.” The VMA show is expected to air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
“We’re thrilled to have the incredibly talented Sebastian Maniscalco as this year’s VMA host,” said Bruce Gillmer, exec producer of MTV VMAs. “Sebastian is on fire right now and his comedic spin on relatable topics will make this year’s show truly unforgettable.”
Maniscalco recently blew-out attendance records for a recent engagement at Madison Square Garden, selling more than 72,000 tickets in a weekend engagement. He has also authored the book “Stay Hungry” and appeared in the movie “Green Book” plus the anticipated Martin Scorsese vehicle “The Irishman” starring Robert de Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.
