NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess_ == Controversial comedian Andy Dick was apparently assaulted after a performance in New Orleans.
According to NBC affiliate WDSU, Dick just wrapped a performance on August 9th at One Eyed Jacks in the city’s tourist-oriented French Quarter when he was allegedly attacked outside of the club.
Surveillance video obtained by WDSU appears to show the comedian being punched outside of the club by a man wearing dark clothing. In the video, Dick falls to the ground while a group of people gathers around him, apparently to check on his condition.
Dick was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and a second performance at One Eyed Jacks was canceled.
Police in New Orleans have arrested 46-year-old David Hale in connection with the alleged assault. Hale was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center and is facing charges of second degree battery and simple battery, CNN reported.
A motive for the attack remains unclear.
