AUSTRALIA (CelebrityAccess) – Australia’s coveted ARIA Awards took place Wednesday (Nov. 27) in Sydney with Tones & I sweeping this year’s event.
The 26-year-old breakout sensation picked up eight awards including Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release, and Breakthrough Artist presented by PPCA and Best Independent Release. She also performed her international hit “Dance Monkey.”
Other awards went to Dean Lewis, who picked up Best Male Artist and Album Of The Year; The Teskey Brothers, who were awarded Best Blues & Roots Album and Best Group; host Guy Sebastian, who took home Best Video and Song Of The Year (both presented by YouTube Music); and Paul Kelly, who snagged Best Adult Contemporary Album and Best Classical Album, the latter of which he shares with James Ledger.
The 2019 ARIA Industry Icon Award was presented to Michael Chugg, co-founder of Frontier Touring Company and Michael Chugg Entertainment, while Human Nature were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. The band also performed a medley of their greatest hits.
